FAVOURITE BEAUTY BUYS: 2013

Throughout 2013 i invested in some beauty buys, most, if not all of which have become my beauty staples that i couldn't imagine being without now. With the amount of beauty blogs around, and with the help of social media such as Instagram it is so much easier to know which products are good and bad and which you just need to own.

Not in any particular order, here they are:

YSL Forever Serum £60
A major investment buy, but this serum is miracle serum. I'd had my eyes on it for a while, having heard rave reviews and eventually gave in and bought it. It preps your skin beautifully, illuminates skin, corrects skin tone and makes a perfect base for foundation. You also put it on at night, consistently, to get the full effects of skin tone correction and clear skin. Yes it is £60 but that's for a massive bottle that will last you for a very long time.

YSL Baby Doll Mascara £24.50
Hands down the best mascara i have ever used. It has a plastic bristle brush that separates lashes perfectly whilst also lengthening and thickening lashes. It lasts for a few months at a time and i cannot go a day without it.

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation £27
Being relatively pale, Illamasqua is the first brand that i have found to match my skin tone perfectly without making me look yellow, orange or pink. A small amount of this foundation goes a long way, with smooth application it buffs into the skin to give a maximum coverage, natural, flawless finish. I've tried numerous foundations from Clinique, MAC, Chanel, Esteé Lauder and Bobbi Brown but this wins them all.

Chanel Hydracrème £50
I bought this only recently, again an investment buy but you get a big pot of this luxurious moisturiser that leaves your skin feeling so soft and nourished without any irritation. A little goes a long way and in the space of a month i have hardly used any. I put this on after the YSL serum and my skin has never felt better.

Real Techniques Brushes Core Collection  £15
Every man and his dog has these brushes and there's every reason why they do. The way my makeup looks, through applying it with these brushes, has been transformed. A particular favourite is the buffing brush which i use for my foundation, it buffs the foundation onto my skin flawlessly.

Sally Hansen Miracle Nail Growth £9.99
This little gold pot of heaven really definitely actually works! You apply it every other day and it aids the growth of your nails. I just really need to stop picking them now.

Illamasqua Sculpting Powder Duo £26
Another Illamasqua favourite. This is a relatively new product from the beauty brand. It's a double palette which consists of a highlighter and a contour blush. It's a great duo and they both compliment each other perfectly on the skin.

Nars Creamy Concealer £21
Another recent purchase after hearing about it on every single beauty blog that there ever was and now i don't know how i survived without it. It covers blemishes and dark circles seamlessly with  a creamy, easy to apply texture.

Nars Velvet Matte Lips £17.50
I love a matte lip and this is probably my favourite lip product so far, although the more popular colours tend to sell out real quick. It comes in the form of a pencil and you literally draw it onto your lips and it lasts all day, if not longer with no drying out or need to reapply.

I wonder what i shall be buying in 2014!
